On Friday, July 11th @ 6:00 PM and Saturday, July 12th @ 3:00 & 6:00 PM, the award-winning film Caught by the Tides, directed by Jia Zhangke, will be shown at the Speed Cinema in the Speed Art Museum.

The film mostly adheres to Qiaoqiao’s perspective as she wanders an increasingly unrecognizable country in search of her long-lost lover, Bin. But it’s assembled from footage shot over a span of 23 years, and it features a cascade of images taken from previous movies.
