NOTES

  1. It’s unclear if this is just an adaptation of Mayuzumi’s 1957 “Pieces for Prepared Piano and String Quartet,” but Fralen (2000b: 71) explicitly states the one for strings is “Copyright 1958.” ↩︎
  2. Iowa Libraries InfoHawk+ (n.d.) lists the month but no day date. Presumably this info is contained in the CD reissue of Mayuzumi’s works from 2004, though Fralen (2000b: 71) does not list a month or day date. WorldCat (n.d.) gives a different year, 1964, as the recording date, but is likely a typo as it lists the release date as 1963. ↩︎
