Yihan Wang (Guzheng) + Namkyung Joh (Piri) @ Poetry Reading & International Tea Tasting Event

We are excited for our Poetry Reading & International Tea Tasting Event at Carnegie Center on Wednesday, May 28th. We will also get to hear from incredible musicians like Yihan Wang, a Chinese teacher and Guzheng musician trained under the Zhao family lineage. With seven years of dedicated study, she specializes in traditional repertoire and brings a refined, authentic interpretation to her music. Her playing invites audiences to experience the elegance, subtlety, and timeless spirit of Chinese culture through the voice of the Guzheng.

THIS WEDNESDAY catch us at Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning for a night of poetry by local AAPI authors, and international tea tasting, and music by local artists like Namkyung. Namkyung Joh is a piri player who studied Korean traditional music at the National Gugak High School and Ewha Womans University. As a member of the Lee-Nae Ensemble—a trio consisting of piri, cello, and piano—she explores the fusion of traditional Korean music with contemporary elements, aiming to make it more accessible to the public. Her performances span across Korea, the United States, Canada, and various regions in Asia, reflecting her commitment to both preserving and innovating within the realm of Korean traditional music.

Thank you to Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning for hosting this FREE event next Wednesday, May 28th. Doors open at 6PM, readings begin at 7PM.
